Soldiers Memorial Facilities Use

Space Available for Your Event


Soldiers Memorial has a number of areas in the building and around the grounds that are available for use/rent. These include the front/back steps of the Memorial as well as the atrium area around the Cenotaph. On the 2nd floor, there are two spacious rooms (both are air-conditioned) as well an auditorium that seats 270 people. Tables, chairs, and audio/visual equipment are also available for use. Nice-sized restrooms are located on both the 2nd floor and in the basement area. Veterans organizations and schools are strongly encouraged to use the facilities for meetings and/or events. DEPOSIT AND FEE INFORMATION 

A DEPOSIT OF $50.00 IS DUE FOR ALL EVENTS (CASH OR CHECKS ONLY).  PREFERABLY, WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE $50.00 DEPOSIT SUBMITTED AT THE TIME YOUR APPLICATION IS COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM.  YOU HAVE UP TO TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT DATE TO SUBMIT THE TOTAL FEE AMOUNT. YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR $50. 00 DEPOSIT IF YOUR EVENT IS CANCELLED LESS THAN TWO (2) WEEKS/FOURTEEN (14) DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF THE EVENT.


THE GENERAL FEES TO RENT SPACE AT SOLDIERS MEMORIAL ARE AS FOLLOWS (DEPOSIT INCLUDED IN FEES-CASH OR CHECKS ONLY):
2ND FLOOR MEETING AREA/RECEPTION AREA ROOM 204-205:  $200.00

2ND FLOOR MEETING AREA/RECEPTION AREA ROOM 201-202: $150.00

2ND FLOOR ASSEMBLY HALL: $250.00

ATRIUM AREA (OUTSIDE AROUND BLACK CENOTAPH): $150.00
AREA PARKS, INCLUDING COURT OF HONOR (FEE SEPARATE FROM PARK PERMIT FEE ): $50.00

OUTSIDE (THIS IS ALL INCLUSIVE: PATIO AREAS, STEPS,  AND LOWER LEVEL OF STEPS): $75.00

THE TWO MUSEUM GALLERIES CAN BE OPENED DURING YOUR EVENT, AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM STAFF. IF THE GALLERIES WILL BE OPENED, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THERE WILL BE NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED INSIDE THE GALLERIES.

 

USE OF SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM IS NOT TO EXCEED SIX (6) HOURS. THIS EXCLUDES TRAINING SESSIONS/CLASSES.


INSURANCE 
 

MILITARY/LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ONLY:

PERSONAL AND PROPERTY WAIVERS MUST BE SIGNED FOR YOUR EVENT.

 

NON-MILITARY ORGANIZATIONS:  MUST PROVIDE A CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE WITHIN FIFTEEN (15 DAYS) OF YOUR EVENT DATE.

 
CATERING AT YOUR EVENT

ANY EVENT IN WHICH A CATERER WILL BE SERVING ALCOHOL WILL NEED TO PROVIDE SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM WITH A COPY OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE THAT INCLUDES LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE AND MUST ALSO PROVIDE A COPY OF THE PERMIT FROM THE EXCISE DIVISION. CALL (314) 622-4191 FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THAT PERMIT.

 

SECURITY

FEES FOR EXTENDED AND/OR ADDITIONAL SECURITY WILL BE BILLED DIRECTLY TO YOUR ORGANIZATION.  THIS INCLUDES ANY SECURITY NEEDED BEFORE AND AFTER NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INVOICE OF EXTENDED/ADDITIONAL SECURITY. THE SOLDIERS M
EMORIAL STAFF MUST APPROVE YOUR SECURITY NEEDS.


CLEAN-UP AFTER YOUR EVENT

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ANY CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR EVENT REQUIRING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WILL BE BILLED DIRECTLY TO YOUR ORGANIZATION. SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM WILL NOTIFY YOU IN WRITING OF THE NEED FOR THESE SERVICES AND WILL HAVE THE COMPANY INVOICE YOUR ORGANIZATION.


ELECTRICAL USE
 

FOR ELECTRICAL USE DURING YOUR EVENT, PLEASE CONTACT FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AT (314) 613 -7280 FOR ANY ELECTRICAL EMERGENCIES, AT WHICH TIME AN ON-CALL ELECTRICIAN WILL BE PAGED.  

 

OTHER INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW

NON-MILITARY ORGANIZATIONS: ANY AND ALL APPLICABLE PERMITS NEEDED FOR YOUR EVENT MUST BE OBTAINED BY YOUR ORGANIZATION. SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM WILL ASSIST YOU IN FINDING WHICH DEPARTMENTS YOU NEED TO CONTACT. 

 
YOUR ORGANIZATION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PLACING (AND REMOVING AFTER YOUR EVENT) ANY APPLICABLE METER COVERS ON THE METERS FOR YOUR EVENT. THE METER COVERS ARE PROVIDED BY SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM.


CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO: SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM. IN ANY CASE WHERE A PERSONAL CHECK IS RETURNED FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS, SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM/BOARD OF PUBLIC SERVICE WILL TAKE IMMEDIATE STEPS TO COLLECT THE FEES PLUS A $20 SERVICE CHARGE. IF AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS TO COLLECT FAIL, THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS LAW DEPARTMENT WILL BE NOTIFIED.

 

  

 

PLEASE NOTE: EVENT FEES FOR THE USE OF SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM ARE DETERMINED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS/SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM POLICIES AND REGULATIONS.
